Seeking to Interview Academic Librarians Who Teach or Curate Open Science or Scholarship Practices in Undergraduate Education

Posted on March 8, 2022 by Eric Edwards

(via Sanja Gidakovic, University of Central Missouri)

I am currently enrolled in a Human Information Behavior graduate seminar at the University of Missouri. As a part of the course, I am conducting an exploratory research study on open science and scholarship, especially as they relate to reproducibility, along with trends in librarian and faculty collaboration.

I am seeking to interview academic librarians who have experience with, and are currently helping implement these principles into, undergraduate teaching.

If you are working at an institution that has embedded open science and scholarship, especially as they relate to reproducibility, into teaching as a core component; or if you collaborate with faculty to curate material, co-teach, or create other support related to open science and reproducibility; please respond to the survey link below to include your contact preferences, and I will be in contact with you with further information regarding the study. If you know someone who may be interested, please feel free to share this information with that person.

The interviews will be conducted in Zoom, which is expected to last 60-90 minutes, and they will also be recorded. Once the recording is transcribed and analyzed, the recordings will be deleted. Once the research is completed and published, no one will be able to identify you in the study.

I have obtained Institutional Research Board (IRB) approval for this study, and participation is entirely voluntary. Participants may withdraw from the study at any point.

To access the survey, please go here.
