Registration is open for the NNLM webinar “Creating a Data Dashboard with Power BI”. It will take place on Thursday, April 9, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM CDT
Power BI is a robust tool within Microsoft365 that can be used to explore, analyze, and visualize your data all in one place. This introductory workshop will use the web version of Power BI to upload a dataset and create a simple visualization and data dashboard to really make your data shine.
Objectives:
1. Navigate the Power BI Desktop interface
2. Import Excel data into Power BI
3. Create summary statistics (total counts, distinct values)
4. Build at least two visualizations (bar chart and pie chart)
5. Design a simple dashboard with interactive elements 6. Apply basic filters to data
The instructor is Jocelyn Swick-Jemison, Data Services Librarian at the University of Buffalo.
This webinar is worth 1.00 hour of MLA CE credit for the Data Services Specialization (DSS) Level 1. It is part of the Region 7 Presents webinar series.
