Region 4 of the Network of the National Library of Medicine invites you to join us for our free webinar this month.
- Topic: “Designing and Implementing a Statewide Subsidized Article Delivery Service”
- Date & Time: Wednesday, March 25, 2:00-3:00 PM CDT
- Session Length: 60 minutes
- Guest Speakers: Christy Jarvis, University of Utah
- Description: Access to subscription-based biomedical literature remains a significant barrier for physicians practicing outside academic health systems, particularly in rural and under-resourced communities. This session will present the design, implementation, and first-year outcomes of a statewide subsidized article delivery service developed to eliminate paywall barriers and support evidence-based practice. Participants will learn how a customized PubMed interface, strategic partnerships with licensing agencies and professional associations, and grant-funded article fulfillment combined to create a seamless, zero-cost experience for clinicians. The session will review outreach strategies, enrollment growth, article usage data, cost considerations, vendor management, and sustainability planning. Attendees will gain practical insights into building a scalable, replicable model that extends library services beyond institutional boundaries and advances equitable access to clinical information. Please note: This webinar will not be recorded.
Registration is required. Please note: You must be a NNLM member to register (it’s free!). Please reach out to region4@nnlm.gov with any questions you may have.
