Registration is open for the MLA webinar “Exploratory Research on Applying AI Tools in Medical Literature Mining and Navigation”. It will take place on Thursday, March 26, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM CDT. Please see below for more information, including the link to registration.
This webinar explores whether current scholarly AI tools such as Scite, Openknowledgemaps, Research Rabbit, Elicit, and Litmaps can support large-scale literature navigation, research gap identification, and the presentation of supporting and opposing evidence in health sciences libraries. The aim is to assess their capabilities and limitations in these workflows and to identify potential strategies for enhancing and integrating library literature search services and collections, for example using these tools to map topics and visualize citation relationships. Participants will walk through typical library literature search workflows and see where these tools can be incorporated, including for citation mapping, topic navigation, and full-text linking, while also discussing the limitations and process challenges observed for each tool to inform practical integration strategies.
The presenter is Evelyn Wang, Clinical and Educational Librarian at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center.
For additional information, including the learning objectives, and to register, please go here. The cost is $96.00.
