As promised, the PPIRS (Politics, Policy, and International Relations Section) Professional Development Committee is pleased to co-sponsor the upcoming webinar “Disappearing Data: Grassroots Efforts to Preserve Government Information in Uncertain Times”. This session is part of GODORT’s (Government Documents Round Table’s) popular Help! I’m an Accidental Government Information Librarian webinar series and will feature three leaders in the efforts to preserve government data.
- Molly Blake, Social Sciences Librarian at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, who has launched the Tracking Gov Info Project to keep track of removed and modified government information and resources.
- Jack Cushman, Director of the Harvard Library Innovation Lab, a software and design lab at the Harvard Law School Library that builds tools and communities for open knowledge.
- Lynda Kellum, Director of Research Data & Digital Scholarship at the University of Pennsylvania and a founding organizer of the Data Rescue Project.
The webinar, which will highlight concrete actions we can all take to preserve government information, will be held Wednesday, May 28, at 2:00 PM CDT. Please register here.
