Posted on December 16, 2022 by Eric Edwards

Hola!

We wanted to reach out and keep you informed! A task force has been established with the goal of reviving the Midwest Chapter of REFORMA (The National Association to Promote Library & Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish Speaking), which includes Illinois!

Our goal is to complete our mission by spring 2023. Currently, we are reviewing the chapter’s bylaws, setting up social media and communication paths, and meeting monthly. Next steps include the following.

  • Communicating with existing members
  • Seeking input from members
  • Soliciting candidates
  • Holding elections
  • Elected chapter president holding first meeting

More work needs to be done, but we wanted to keep you informed of our progress. As we move through each step, we will provide updates. Also, please watch the REFORMA website for the latest news.

If you have any questions, please contact us at reformamidwest.taskforce@gmail.com.
