Proposals Deadline for Northwest Interlibrary Loan & Resource Sharing Conference (Sept. 10-11 in Portland) Extended to Friday, March 20

The 19th annual Northwest Interlibrary Loan & Resource Sharing Conference will take place September 10-11, 2020, at Portland Community College – Sylvania in Portland, Oregon.  Look for registration opening sometime in Late April 2020.

The deadline for proposals has been extended to Friday, March 20.

Our Keynote speaker this year is Scott Brown, Senior Cybrarian at Oracle Inc. and the author of “Social Information: Gaining competitive and business advantage using social media tools” (2012, Elsevier/Chandos). Scott also serves as adjunct faculty with the iSchool at San Jose State University and teaches regularly for other information science programs. With over 20 years of experience in library and information settings, Scott is a regular writer and speaker on many areas of information work.

Call for Session Proposals

The NWILL Conference Program Committee invites proposals for lightning rounds (7 minutes) and regular sessions (45 minutes) of interest to interlibrary loan and resource sharing practitioners from all over North America.

Would you like to be involved in a panel discussion?  Can you do a 5 – 7 minute presentation on a topic below and feel comfortable answering questions or leading a discussion with a group of 3 – 5 other people?  Please let us know on the proposal form linked below.

The following topics are of interest to the Program Committee and have been requested by previous attendees. We welcome proposals on other topics as well:

  • Emergency planning
  • ILL for public, small, and special libraries
  • ILL for underserved communities
  • Copyright
  • Do you have a “non-traditional” ILL service or patron group?”
  • System migration and ILS
  • Alternatives to CONTU
  • Outreach/Marketing
  • Management or training / Upward management

Those whose proposals are accepted will receive free registration.
