Loyola University Chicago Health Sciences Library, Maywood, IL, has an opening for a Part-Time Reference Specialist (20 hours per week). The successful candidate’s work will support the teaching and learning, research, and patient care needs of a busy and diverse health sciences campus, using the resources of an all-electronic library.
The position’s responsibilities include the following.
- staffing the Library Service Desk to provide directional, print and copy, circulation, and customer service assistance to library guests
- performing mediated literature searches and answers questions from the “Ask A Librarian” online service
- providing reference and research support via onsite, online, chat, and telephone service.
- searching PubMed to locate and verify citations for inclusion in the Faculty Publications database.
