CARLI Member Libraries Represented in 2019 ALA Elections

Congratulations to several employees at CARLI member libraries who were recently elected to the following positions within ALA.

Julie Murphy, Collection Assessment Librarian at Illinois State University, was elected Vice-Chair/Chair Elect of the Collection Development and Evaluation Section (CODES). CODES is a section of the Reference and User Services Association.

Mackenzie Salisbury, Research & Instruction Librarian at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, was elected Vice-Chair/Chair Elect of the Arts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Paula Mae Carns, Head, Literatures and Languages Library, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was elected Member-at-Large for the European Studies Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Will Hansen, Director of Reader Services and Curator of Americana, Newberry Library, was elected Secretary of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Lynne M. Thomas, Head, Rare Book and Manuscript Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was elected Member-at-Large of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Miriam Centeno, Collections Care Coordinator at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was elected Member-at-Large of the Preservation & Reformatting Section of the Association of Library Collections & Technical Services.

Evviva Weinraub, Associate University Librarian for Collections & Technologies at Northwestern University, was elected President-Elect of ALA’s Library and Information Technology Association.

Hong Ma, Head of Library Systems at Loyola University Chicago, was elected Director-at-Large for ALA’s Library and Information Technology Association.
