Great news! I am so excited to announce CARLI’s first Career Fair, to be held in partnership with the iSchool at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, on Thursday, November 14, 2019, 3-5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 101 Trade Center Drive, in Champaign. The event will be held on the day before the CARLI Directors Meeting and the Annual Meeting.
Career Fair registration information for employers is forthcoming and will be open to Illinois libraries, museums, and archives, and businesses that hire information profession graduates. CARLI Governing Members who would like to participate as an employer will not pay a registration fee. The Career Fair will be followed immediately by a mixer from 5-7 p.m., for networking, socializing, and to learn about an initiative to commemorate a special CARLI resource sharing 40thanniversary.
Our fabulous partners at the iSchool provide an online tool called “Handshake” to assist both employers and job seekers. Employers will be required to use Handshake to register for the fair (registration for the fair will open soon).
We’ve arranged for a webinar to demonstrate Handshake and to chat about the Career Fair. The webinar will be held Tuesday, June 4, 1:30-2:30 p.m. To attend the webinar go to http://webjunctionillinois.adobeconnect.com/carli/(registration is not required to attend the webinar).
