Call for Submissions: New “What’s Blooming? Micro Profiles on Experimental Library Projects” Feature in IACRL Newsletter–Deadline Thurs., March 5

Posted on January 22, 2026 by Eric Edwards

(via Kaitlyn Weger, Illinois Eastern Community Colleges – Olney Central College)

We know Illinois academic libraries are full of creativity—and we want to spotlight it!

For our Spring IACRL Newsletter, we’re collecting short micro‑profiles of small experiments happening across campus libraries. Think:

  • Pilot ideas you’ve tested
  • Prototypes you’ve tried out
  • Creative risks that helped you learn something new
  • Any “tiny but mighty” innovation you’d love to share
  • Feel free to share a photo as well!

If you’ve launched (or even attempted) a small project that pushed boundaries, solved a problem, or sparked curiosity, we want to hear about it—successes, surprises, and lessons learned are all welcome.

Please send a brief description, along with your name and institution, to wegerk@iecc.edu by Thursday, March 5.

Let’s celebrate the experiments taking root across Illinois libraries!

Please view past issues of the IACRL Newsletter here.
