Please save the date for the NEASIS&T (Northeast Chapter of Association for Information Science and Technology) Annual Conference, which will be held virtually through Zoom on Friday, March 3 (final time TBD). Simmons ASIS&T will co-host the Conference. The theme this year is “Information Science and Technology in Action”. Registration opens this month.

This event looks at how information is used and applied in theory and practice across different sectors and industries. Practitioners, students, and researchers in all library and information science/technology fields are encouraged to submit a proposal.

Call for Proposals

For our call for proposals, examples of areas of practice include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Information Behavior
  • Information Use
  • Information Technology
  • Data Science
  • Usability
  • Knowledge Management
  • Information Research
  • Information Retrieval
  • Electronic Resource Management
  • Data Privacy
  • Alternative Data
  • Informatics
  • Information Access

  • Digital Libraries

We are accepting proposals for presentations, panels, workshops and posters related to our conference theme. We welcome proposals from students, faculty, practitioners, and any other role in the information sciences, libraries, archives, and other related sectors. Priority will be given to proposals from presenters in the Northeast region (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ).

Proposed topics can be in any format: panel, presentation, seven-to-ten-minute lightning talk/poster, hands-on workshop, etc.

Please submit proposals through this online form.

The submission deadline is Monday, January 16, with notifications sent out by Friday, January 27.

The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) bridges the gap between information science practice and research. Members share a common interest in improving the ways society stores, retrieves, analyzes, manages, archives and disseminates information.  The Northeast chapter (NEASIS&T) has a particular interest in providing low-cost professional development opportunities to practitioners who work in library digital services, IT systems, and data science.
