This is a call for contributions to the new “Pathways to the Profession” column inĀ Serials Review. This column will showcase how internships, fellowships, residencies, and related programs provide needed experience for MLIS students and new graduates as well as fill talent gaps in the technical services professions. The column will investigate current trends in post-graduate programs in library technical services, offering insights, strategies, case studies and success stories that will inspire the reader to learn more or to start a program at their institution. It will highlight initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion within library programs.
Submissions can be related to any aspect of training and mentoring in technical services/libraries, including but not limited to internships, fellowships, residencies, cross-training and peer-mentoring. This would be a great opportunity for you to report on topics that may benefit others in our profession.
If you have a column idea or topic, please click here to submit a brief proposal. Proposals will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Columns are typically due in July and January. Contributions should not be published elsewhere.
