Are you new to community college libraries and looking to expand your professional knowledge and skills? The CJCLS (Community & Junior College Libraries Section of ACRL) Mentoring Program Committee invites you to participate in the CJCLS Mentorship Program!
The CJCLS Mentoring Program continues to be a success, and we are now accepting mentee applications for the 2025-2026 (eight-month) mentoring program. Mentors were recruited in April, 2025.
After the deadline, (see below), participants will be paired (mentor/mentee), and the mentoring program will run from October 15, 2025, to June 26, 2026. A “Kick-Off Meeting” covering a review of the program will take place on Wednesday, October 15, at 1:00 PM CDT.
Requirements for Participation:
For Mentees: Open to all who are currently employed at a community college library as a librarian, staff, administrator, or student enrolled in or recent graduate from graduate-level Library and Information Science (MLIS) programs who are interested in working at a community college library.
Note: Due to limited space, this year’s CJCLS Mentoring Program will accept only as many mentees as there are available mentors. As a result, we will maintain a waitlist for additional mentees. During the application period, we will inform you if you are placed on the waitlist.
To apply, please complete the 2025-2026 Mentee Form by Sunday, September 14, at 5:00 PM CDT.
For more information, contact the CJCLS Mentoring Committee Co-Chairs: Sandy McCarthy (mccarthy@wccnet.edu) and Kathy Ladell (ladellkn@ucmail.uc.edu), in addition to the CJCLS Mentoring LibGuide.
