Posted on September 9, 2018 by Eric Edwards

(via the American Library Association)

Looking for a path to leadership in ALA?  Volunteer for the ALA and Council Committee Associate Program!

The ALA and Council Committee Associates Program  provides an opportunity for you to become familiar with ALA structure, in particular its committees. As an Associate Committee member, you will:

  • Learn about ALA structure to prepare for an active role in ALA committees
  • Climb the ALA leadership ladder to positions of responsibility within ALA
  • Connect with library leaders through service and networking
  • Strengthen your leadership skills

Formerly known as the ALA and Council Committee Intern program, the Associate Program is open to any member who has never been appointed to a position on a Committee of the Association or a Committee of Council, nor held an elected office within the American Library Association or any unit of the Association (including its Divisions, Round Tables, etc.).

To apply, fill out online committee volunteer form.  For more information about the program, visit ALA and Council Committee Associate Program.
