Illinois Library Association Releases Statement of Appropriate Conduct

Posted on October 20, 2019 by Eric Edwards

(via Molly Beestrum, ILA President)

Hello ILA members and friends! We are pleased to present a new aspect of ILA sponsored conferences and events, the goal of which is to enable and enhance the fullest, most productive possible experience for participants: A Statement of Appropriate Conduct.

Following in the steps of many other associations that have adopted such statements or codes, and leading ahead of others, the ILA Executive Board has researched, developed, and approved this Statement, which covers expected standards of behavior and a process for reporting incidents. We hope each of you will take a moment to read the Statement and familiarize yourself with the process.

We are proud to have taken this proactive step toward enhancing the conference and event experience for everyone. If you have concerns or questions about this, please do reach out to me at molly@beestrum.com or ILA Executive Director Diane Foote at dfoote@ila.org. We look forward to seeing those of you planning to attend the ILA Annual Conference in Tinley Park!
