2nd Call for Responses: International Survey on Clinical Librarian Services and Impact

Posted on March 11, 2018 by Eric Edwards

(via Rebecca Carlson McCall, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill)

The Health Sciences Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is conducting a research study on the essential services provided by clinical librarians. This study addresses a gap in the clinical librarianship literature on the activities and impact of services by clinical librarians worldwide. Our analysis of current trends in clinical librarian services will provide an overview of service models and the areas of focus clinical librarians have in their current positions, which we hope will benefit clinical librarians in the future.

The results of this study will be used to create a research poster displayed at the Medical Library Association’s Annual meeting in Atlanta,
GA in May 2018. The poster is entitled: Clinical Librarians and their Essential Services in Academic and Healthcare Settings: A Comparative Survey.

The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. If you choose to participate in the study, you will be asked questions about your experience and activities relating to clinical librarianship. You may skip questions that you do not want to answers or stop the survey at any time. Please complete this survey about your own experiences as a clinical librarian. If you have colleagues at your institution who also provide clinical librarian services, please also forward the link to the survey to them.

The survey is completely anonymous. Your name or affiliation will not be associated with your responses. No identifying information will be
collected aside from your country of employment.

If you have any research-related questions or problems, you may contact us at: Rebecca McCall, mccall@unc.edu, (919) 966-0951, or Sarah Towner Wright, wrightst@med.unc.edu, (919) 966-7332. The IRB at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has approved this study.

The closing date for this survey is March 23, 2018
