Resource Sharing and Interlibrary Loan are often overlooked but basic services in health sciences libraries. This course will discuss the fundamentals of resource sharing, interlibrary loan, and document delivery; their evolution; the variety of platforms available, how to build partnerships; and how better to serve our patrons; all while honoring our licenses and following the law.
Attendees will learn the terminology, best practices, and the history of resource sharing as well as the challenges this service presents. The primary ILL systems and management software will be covered.
The instructor is Jennifer K. Lloyd, MLIS, AHIP, the Associate Director for the LSUHSC (Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center) Libraries in New Orleans.
