The ALA Core Consortium Management Interest Group is excited to announce its first virtual program of fall 2025, “Crossing Back Over: Insights from Consortial Veterans in the Library”. This program will feature the insights of three library leaders who previously held leadership roles at library consortia. Our speakers will examine leadership in libraries through a unique consortial lens.

This webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM CDT. The webinar is free and open to everyone (no ALA or Core membership required).

Description

“Crossing Back Over: Insights from Consortial Veterans in the Library” is a webinar that brings together panelists who have made that journey from a consortial leadership role back to a role in an individual institution; each panelist will reflect on the skills, perspectives, and strategies they carried back into their libraries as they work with consortia moving forward. Participants will gain insight into how consortial experience can shape a library leader’s relationship with its consortial partners, their strategies for collective action, and their perspectives in consortial value. Join us for a candid conversation about navigating both sides of the library–consortia relationship, and how the lessons learned can strengthen libraries of all kinds.
