We thought you might be interested in a free virtual event taking place Tuesday, August 4, for academic librarians, “Critical Thinking Bootcamp: Skills, Tools, and Resources to Help Patrons Navigate a World of Misinformation”. Register and learn more here.
Three expert librarians will share best practices and outside-the-box initiatives to help students avoid mis- and disinformation as they learn about and research critical social issues, and a group of your peers will share their experiences as well. Sessions include the following.
–Misinformation, Disinformation, and COVID-19
–Lightning Talks (you are welcome to apply here to give a 5-minute talk of your own) The deadline is Wednesday, July 22.
–Conversational Breakouts
The event will take place on Tuesday, August 4, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM CDT, and attendees are welcome to join for all or just pop in for the sessions they can. Attendees will leave with a toolkit to help implement what they learn.
