The Medical Library Association’s (MLA) Hospital Library and Collection Development Caucuses invite you to join an informal discussion and forum on hospital library collection development. It will take place online Thursday, October 9, at 1:00 PM CDT.
Join the meeting here. Registration is not required.
This open discussion on hospital library collection development will be facilitated by Basia Delawska-Elliott from Providence, with assistance from CeCe Railey from Norton Healthcare. Potential questions for discussion and idea sharing include:
- Are you facing budget cuts? If so, have you used any creative ways to maintain your core collection?
- What innovative strategies have you tried to market your collections (print or electronic)? What worked and what didn’t?
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own topics of interest to the discussion as well. We hope it will serve as a space for hospital librarians to connect with and learn from one another on various collection development subjects.
The session will not be recorded to encourage open dialogue. Any resources discussed during this session will be shared with the Caucuses afterward. You do not need to be an MLA member to attend.
