The Residency Interest Group (RIG) Programs Team will continue its Life After Residencies webinar series this Spring with a two-part mini-series on leveraging transferable skills in the job hunt.
- Part 1 will provide an overview of the post-residency job search, and ideally highlight success stories from former residents who transitioned smoothly into permanent roles, whether within librarianship or elsewhere.
- Part 2 will feature tips and tools that can help residents properly position the transferable skills honed during their residency experience on job applications and in interviews.
Each panel will likely include a 30-45 moderated panel discussion and 15-20 minute audience Q&A. We anticipate the panels occurring in late March/early April.
We seek three or four panelists for each webinar. We are interested in representing a variety of experiences, including former residents who landed a permanent position outside of librarianship. Though residency experience is prioritized, it is not a requirement. For Part 2 in particular, we seek at least one individual with hiring experience (i.e., having chaired or served on a search committee, worked in Human Resources, etc.).
If you have any questions, would like to volunteer as a virtual panelist, or have suggestions for potential panelists, please contact Courtney Shareef at courtney.shareef@louisville.edu by Friday, February 13.
