ACRL Instruction Section Seeks Feedback on Revisions to Info. Lit. Guidelines

Posted on April 22, 2017 by Eric Edwards

(via Carolyn Radcliff, Chapman University)

The Information Literacy Best Practices Committee of the ACRL Instruction Section has been charged with revising the current Characteristics of Programs of Information Literacy that Illustrate Best Practices: A Guideline. The subcommittee has completed the task of revising this document, and are now ready to receive feedback on this revision. Major changes in the revision include updates reflecting the move from the Information Literacy Standards to the new Framework for Information Literacy. Also, an effort was made to streamline the document and to focus on its potential purposes and uses.

The Task Force invites feedback on the draft by Friday, April 28. Click here to access a brief survey. With your feedback, the Committee hopes to make the document a truly useful tool for librarians, instruction coordinators, administrators, library school students, and others. The task force will compile the feedback and submit recommendations for revision to the ACRL/IS Executive Committee.

If you have any questions throughout this process, please feel free to contact Claudia Peterson, at cpeterson3@carleton.edu.
