LLAMA webinar helps you demonstrate the value of your academic library

Academic libraries are constantly striving to demonstrate their value to the campus community and administrators. While academic programs undergo regular review to assess and align the curriculum with current trends, libraries are rarely given that opportunity. The Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) will present “Proving your library’s value: how to conduct a review that aligns with your academic programs,” on Wednesday, March 6, at 1:30-3:00 p.m. CT.

This webinar will discuss how to better demonstrate your value to campus administrators by examining the benefits and opportunities gleaned from an assessment conducted by the library at Marymount University. This periodic review was a holistic examination of services and staffing levels that included thorough benchmarking and a visit from an external reviewer.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Demonstrate the library’s value to the university
  • Measure, evaluate, and purposefully reflect on the academic library in a comparable manner to an academic program review
  • Construct a workflow that ensures collaboration across all library departments
  • Summarize the lessons learned to provide guidance for other academic libraries going through a periodic or program review

This webinar addresses evidence-based decision making, which is one of LLAMA’s Foundational Leadership Competencies.
