ALA Seeking IFLA Section Committee Nominations for 2017-21

Posted on June 25, 2016 by Eric Edwards

(via ALA)

The ALA International Relations Committee (IRC) is seeking nominations to section standing committees of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). The selected representatives will serve from 2017 to 2021. Details on the ALA nomination and selection process can be found on the information site. Any ALA member is eligible to seek nomination from ALA to an IFLA standing committee. Nominees should be an expert in the field covered by the section standing committee. They are expected to attend meetings of the section standing committee without cost to IFLA or to ALA. Individuals can serve on only one IFLA committee at a time. Candidates can serve on a committee for up to two consecutive four-year terms. For a current list of representatives, please visit the IFLA standing committees and ALA representatives site.

If you wish to be nominated by the representative unit within ALA aligned to the chosen IFLA Section, please contact the unit directly for information on their process for nomination. You may e-mail Delin Guerra, at dguerra@ala.org, with any questions.
