ACRL Seeks Volunteers for Higher Ed. Standards Task Force

Posted on April 23, 2016 by Eric Edwards

Association of College and Research Libraries President Ann Campion Riley is seeking volunteers for a newly-formed task force that will evaluate and make recommendations on the ACRL Standards for Libraries in Higher Education. The Standards, which were last updated in 2011, are due for a mandatory five-year review. At its virtual meeting earlier this month, the ACRL Board of Directors approved the creation of a task force to undertake the review process. In evaluating the Standards, task force members will focus, in particular, on how the latest accreditation rules have affected the role of academic libraries in their institutions. Before submitting a final draft, the task force will seek feedback from institution-level constituents, in addition to ACRL members. An interim draft is due at the fall, 2016, meeting of the ACRL Executive Committee, with the final report being submitted at the ALA 2017 Annual Conference.

The deadline to volunteer for the task force is Friday, April 29. For more information, including the link to the volunteer form, go here.
