Knight-Davis Discusses Eastern’s Institutional Repository on WCIA-TV

Posted on November 18, 2015 by Eric Edwards

Two librarians from Eastern Illinois University were recently featured on WCIA’s “CI Living” segment. (Watch the interview here.) Booth Library’s Stacey Knight-Davis (past HSLI President) and Todd Bruns discuss The Keep, Eastern Illinois University’s growing institutional repository. Some of the items they share are yearbooks and postcards in Booth Library’s collection that, through the digitization efforts, are now available for anyone in the world to view. Other materials that have been added are student theses and items connected to the school’s theater program. The librarians also discuss ongoing efforts to collaborate with local museums and historical societies, in order to increase the number of items in The Keep that might be of particular interest to those researching Charleston-area history.

For more information on The Keep, go here. The repository currently contains more than 61,000 papers, and there have been over 432,000 downloads, including 156,000-plus in the past year. One can also view a map showing from where in the world the most recent downloads occurred, and there are lists of the 50 most-recent additions and the 10 most-popular downloads since the site was launched in 2011.

Congratulations, Stacey and Todd!
