I am looking for academic librarians to participate in a pilot study that I am conducting on “Emotional Intelligence in Librarian Leaders’ Management of Others”. The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore how emotional intelligence manifests in the approaches of librarian leaders when managing others, with the goal of informing effective leadership development strategies. This pilot study is being conducted as a requirement for a course on qualitative research taught by Dr. Anthony Ginexi of Drexel University.
If you are interested, you will be invited to participate in either a one-on-one interview lasting approximately 30 – 45 minutes, or a focus group of three to four individuals lasting approximately 45 – 60 minutes. This would occur on Zoom during the weeks of September 15, 2025, through October 5, 2025. Participation in this study is completely voluntary; all participants will remain anonymous and will be identified only by pseudonym. Please contact the researcher at the e-mail address below for a copy of the consent form.
If you are interested, please complete a very brief survey which should take only a few minutes. After I receive your response, I will e-mail you an invitation to participate which includes a link to schedule a time with me. You may also contact me at liz.king@drexel.edu or (518) 276-4103 if you have questions.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to your response.
