We are reaching out to Deans and Directors at United States Academic Libraries to seek your participation in a research study “How are academic librarian salaries determined? A survey of factors influencing compensation”. This study, conducted by Anita R. Hall and Melissa Laning at the University of Louisville, is an effort to understand the factors that contribute to librarian compensation structures, as well as how much discretion deans, library directors, and hiring managers have in this process.
This survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Please share with any other United States academic library deans or directors that you know–we welcome responses from any type of academic library, regardless of institution size or Carnegie classification. To begin the study please click on the link below which will take you to a research consent preamble and then to the survey itself.
Please access the survey here. Direct any questions to Anita R. Hall, Assessment & Analytics Librarian at University of Louisville Libraries (anita.hall@louisville.edu), or Melissa Laning, Associate Dean for Personnel & Research at University of Louisville Libraries (malani01@louisville.edu).
