Banned Books Week is coming up, and the IACRL Communications Committee wants to celebrate the freedom to read by spotlighting the books that have challenged norms, sparked conversations, and stood strong against censorship.
We invite you to share your favorite banned or challenged book title for a special feature in the IACRL Fall Newsletter. Whether it’s a classic, a childhood favorite, or a book that changed your perspective—we’d love to hear about it!
To participate, please send:
- Your favorite banned or challenged book title, along with a brief synopsis
- (Optional) A brief note on why it’s meaningful to you
- Your name and institution–or let us know if you’d prefer to remain anonymous
Send your responses to wegerk@iecc.edu by Wednesday, September 24.
Let’s celebrate the stories that refuse to be silenced and the readers who keep them alive. We look forward to your contributions!
