Registration is open for the first LIS Pedagogy Chat of the fall semester, “Teaching Together: Co-Leading as a Learning Support Methodology for Early Career Library Instructors”. It will take place online Friday, September 5, at 1:00 PM CDT.
Two recent MLIS graduates from the University of California, Los Angeles, will reflect on their experiences leading library workshops together and separately. They suggest that working together has a unique potential to ease anxieties and promote collective learning opportunities for early career library instructors. Collaboration has the ability to increase confidence, camaraderie, and support between the new instructors which can translate to a stronger combined teaching style and facilitate a positive learning environment for those receiving instruction. The session will consist of a brief framing, followed by a facilitated discussion.
Register for the session here. Please note that we have moved to a new zoom registration system to replace the Google forms. This system does not allow us to gather input on future topics, but if you have ideas or would be interested in moderating a chat, please reach out to either Laura Saunders (laura.saunders@simmons.edu) or Melissa A. Wong (mawong@illinois.edu).
