Registration Open for ACRL DSS Numeric & Geospatial Data Services Discussion Group Panel on Book Teaching Research Data Management (Fri., April 8, 1:00-2:00 PM CDT)

The ACRL DSS Numeric & Geospatial Data Services Discussion Group is hosting a virtual panel on data information literacy, featuring contributors to the recently-released book Teaching Research Data Management. The panel discussion will take place on Friday, April 8, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM CDT.

The publication Teaching Research Data Management gathers practitioners from a broad range of academic libraries to describe their services and instruction around research data.

  • Briana Wham: “Leveraging the Utility of RStudio to Teach Data Management, Data Visualization, and Research Reproducibility”
  • Ginny Boehme and Kristen Adams: “Data Literacy on Demand: Creating a Set of Data Literacy Modules for Remote Instruction”
  • Karl Benedict: “Complementary Scales for Learning: The Feedback Loop between Short-Form Technical Workshops and Long-Form Carpentries Workshops”
  • Patti Condon, Megan Bresnahan, and Eugenia Opuda: “Pieces of the Whole: Using the Research Process to Integrate Data Management and Information Literacy Skills”
  • Anna Sackmann, Amy Neeser, Ann Glusker, and Elliott Smith: “Expanding Research Data Management to UC Berkeley Researchers: A Targeted Approach to Outreach and Instruction”
