Reminder: Registration Open for Georgia Library Association Webinar “Keeping Our Sanity During Change” (Wed., Aug. 4, at 1:00 PM CDT)

(via Emily Williams, Georgia State University)

The Georgia Library Association Carterette Webinar Series presents “Keeping Our Sanity During Change”. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, August 4, at 1:00 PM CDT. More information is below.

Description

Discover your power in the organization, and where you do and do not have control.  Learn about giving feedback to your supervisor to influence a change process and how you can get better results.  Consider how people in organizations typically respond to change, how you respond to change, and how this affects the overall library.  Think about expectations around the terms “transparency” and “feedback” when applied to change.  Apply this new knowledge to help change interpersonal dynamics within your organization.

About the Presenter

Catherine Soehner, MLS, BSN, is the Associate Dean for Research and Director of the Eccles Health Sciences Library at the University of Utah.  Catherine has 23 years of leadership experience in libraries and has worked at the National Library of Medicine, the University of Michigan and the University of California Santa Cruz. Her research interests are focused on change management and leadership with publications and presentations focused on systems thinking, conspiratorial thinking in the workplace, and assessment of library programs.  She has published two books, one on effective difficult conversations (2017) and the other on strategic planning (2019).

Can’t make it to the live show? That’s okay. The session will be recorded and available on the Carterette Series Webinars site for later viewing.
