Reminder: Registration Open for July 18 RAILS Member Update

Posted on July 7, 2019 by Eric Edwards

(via RAILS)

The next RAILS member update will be Thursday, July 18, 10 a.m.-noon. Attend at one of several videoconference locations or via one-way streaming video (RAILS Live). The session will also be recorded for viewing at a later date on the RAILS YouTube page. View the agenda here.

You’ll hear the latest news about:

*    RAILS’ campaign to help members prove their value to different stakeholders, including a website for all libraries to share helpful information, upcoming continuing education opportunities, available grants, and what’s coming next
*   RAILS’ grant from the Illinois State Library to recreate the L2 member database and CE event calendar
*   Statewide efforts to revise system membership standards
*   Efforts to help the unserved in Illinois
*   Explore More Illinois, our new cultural attractions pass program
*   New opportunity through RAILS to access resources for local authors, classrooms, book clubs, and communities at no cost to participating libraries
*   How libraries can collaborate to get out the count for Census 2020 activities. Illinois stands to lose at least one U.S. House seat and about $120 million a year if our census count drops just 1%. Learn how to connect with the Complete Count Commission in your area, apply for funding, and address the challenges of hard-to-count populations.
*   Evanston Public Library’s collaborative efforts to create a community dementia resource center
*   Toni Preckwinkle offering storytimes for Cook County libraries

Come prepared to share the latest from your library as well. To see more information and register, go here.
