Is learning more about evidence synthesis on your professional development agenda for the summer? If so, the MLA Systematic Review Caucus would like to help you reach your goals!
The Caucus is convening a summer learning initiative focused on a free and open to all course on Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis developed by the Campbell Collaboration through the Open Learning Initiative at Carnegie Mellon University.
It’s open to non-MLA members and is not specific to health sciences specifically. Campbell tends to focus on the social sciences, though the learning initiative should provide content relevant for health sciences librarians.
The study buddies groups will be formed based on the level of engagement, time and interest, so if people just want to focus on one or two units, that is totally okay.
Please join us for summer school as we complete the free and open Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis: A Campbell Collaboration Online Course together through the Open Learning Initiative at Carnegie Mellon University!
To aid in your learning, the SR Caucus will connect you with several summer school study (or accountability) buddies to help you stay on track. The exact schedule of your learning and how to you work with your study buddies will be entirely up to you and your buddies. This way you can do some learning and work in those vacations and brain breaks too.
The online course we will use was developed by the Campbell Collaboration with experts from Carnegie Mellon University, Georgia State University, Bryn Mawr, and University of Louisville.
To participate, you will need to:
1. Complete this SR Caucus survey before Friday, June 19th to be connected with study buddies.
2. Register for the course on Carnegie Mellon University’s Open Learning Initiative platform.
3. Connect with your study buddies and decide your game plan.
At the end of the summer, please join us for the August SR Caucus meeting, where we’ll celebrate course completion and talk about what we learned.
