{"id":9260,"date":"2019-03-10T21:38:09","date_gmt":"2019-03-10T21:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hsli.org\/?p=9260"},"modified":"2019-03-10T21:38:09","modified_gmt":"2019-03-10T21:38:09","slug":"call-for-presenters-2019-carli-instruction-showcase-deadline-april-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hsli.org\/newsletter\/call-for-presenters-2019-carli-instruction-showcase-deadline-april-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Presenters: 2019 CARLI Instruction Showcase (Deadline April 1)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(via the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois)<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Please share this message with anyone in your institution who may be interested in participating.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The CARLI Instruction Committee is seeking presentation proposals for the\u00a0<b>seventh annual Instruction Showcase\u00a0on Thursday, May 23rd at North Park University<\/b>in Chicago, IL.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">CARLI members are welcome to submit proposals on any\/all library instruction topics, and encouraged to draw inspiration from the committee&#8217;s theme this year, &#8220;Inclusive Classrooms: Cultivating Learning Environments for Students with Diverse Identities.&#8221; Examples related to the theme include instruction sessions that foster inclusive learning environments and encourage diverse perspectives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Proposals should outline an instruction session activity that supports skills-based or conceptual learning and encourages active student participation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Please include a full lesson plan with your proposal. Attached is a template, but feel free to use your preferred format. All lesson plans must include the following elements: topic, learning objective(s), materials, activity overview, assessment of student learning, and applicable knowledge practices and\/or dispositions from the Framework for Information Literacy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Presenters will be given 15 minutes to present and five minutes for questions and answers. Each breakout room is equipped with a presenter&#8217;s station, however, please note that there will not be a computer lab available this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">If interested, please submit the proposal form found at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/Showcase20190523\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/Showcase20190523<\/a>\u00a0<b>no later than 5pm on Monday, April 1st<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Submissions will be reviewed by the CARLI Instruction Committee; notifications will be sent during the week of April 8th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Please save the date!
