Each will provide 4 MLA contact hours of continuing education.<span class=\"x_apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/midwestmla.org\/conference2018\/continuing-education\/#precision_medicine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">More details here.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><u><span lang=\"EN\">Open Science for Health Sciences Librarians<\/span><\/u><span lang=\"EN\">: Open Science pursues the goals of transparency in experimental methodology, observation, and collection of data; publicly availability and reusability of scientific data; public accessibility, and using web-based tools to facilitate collaboration. This course will offer an overview of the role of open science and its components in health sciences research, its implementation throughout the workflow of the research process, locating and creating open sciences policies for use at your institution, and assessing open source tools currently available.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><u><span lang=\"EN\">Precision Medicine<\/span><\/u><span lang=\"EN\">: Precision medicine is an approach to disease management that considers individual variability in genes, environment, and lifestyle.
