In the last several years we&#8217;ve seen a variety of new positions emerge to meet new opportunities in academic, public and special libraries. This year&#8217;s theme &#8220;Grow, Evolve, Serve&#8221; will explore where the profession has been recently and where it needs to go in order to meet these challenges. The conference goal is twofold: to inspire entrepreneurial action among librarians and to create a community among those who do.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The conference will be held at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wakedowntown.wfu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wake Downtown campus<\/a>\u00a0of Wake Forest University on\u00a0<span class=\"x_gmail-aqj\">October 12, 2018<\/span>. It is sponsored by the libraries at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wake Forest University<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncg.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We seek librarians and information professionals to present about projects related to the conference theme. Topics may include, but are not limited to, the following.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>evolving roles of librarians and related professions such as social work, data librarians, digital humanities, and community historians archivists<\/li>\n<li>growth of outreach and marketing, collaboration, and new types of partnerships that get us out of our silos<\/li>\n<li>expansion of services such as data visualization, data management, and institutional repositories<\/li>\n<li>education for future professionals to respond to these changing needs<\/li>\n<li>privacy and the library<\/li>\n<li>analytics, assessment and evaluation and using these techniques for decision making and planning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Presentation Format<\/strong><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Break-out sessions (45 minutes including Q&amp;A) may be panels or single presenters.
