Proposals should fall into one of three categories.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"EN\">Presentations: 15-20 minutes (Please allow 10 to 15 minutes for Q&amp;A after presentations.)\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\"><span lang=\"EN\">Panel Discussions: 45 minutes (Please allow 10 to 15 minutes for Q&amp;A after panel discussions.)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Lightning Talks: 7 minutes (A short 5 to 10 minute Q&amp;A will follow all lightning presentations.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\">We welcome proposals from organizations, including colleges and universities of all sizes, community colleges, special libraries, and any others involved in open education and open pedagogy. We&#8217;re particularly interested in proposals with topics centering around:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\">Adoption and creation of resources<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Publishing platforms<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Best practices\u00a0<span class=\"x_eop\">and the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\">impact of Open Education\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Creative Commons, copyright, and other licensing<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Marketing and advocacy<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Pedagogy and student success, including K-12 highlights<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Instructional design strategies for OER<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Trends and innovation<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">OER in community colleges<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Tenure, promotion, and OER<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">OER community building<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Assessment<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Inclusion and diversity in Open Education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_eop\">Submission Details:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"EN\">The deadline for submissions is\u00a0<b>May 31,<\/b> <strong>2018<\/strong>,at\u00a0<strong>11:59 PM CST<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0The submission form can be found on our event\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/openedss.uark.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span lang=\"EN\">website<\/span><\/a><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"EN\">\u00a0under the Call for Proposals page.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Proposal social media summaries should not exceed 240 characters (spaces included).<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\">Proposal abstracts should not exceed 2000 characters or approximately 500 words.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_paragraph\"><span lang=\"EN\">All submissions will be evaluated based on the relevance of the topic and potential to advance the thinking or practice of Open Education and Open Pedagogy.
