The Maryland Information Literacy Exchange (MILEX) is a collaborative of Maryland academic librarians to promote information literacy in higher education. <\/i><\/p>\n
Join us at this year’s MILEX Conference for an insightful keynote about the future of teaching librarianship and for a workshop of teaching demonstrations and embedded learning activities.<\/p>\n

A roomful of teaching librarians will provide structured and constructive feedback on a learning activity you’re planning. Propose one of the following:<\/p>\n 1. To demonstrate, for critique, a 15- to 30-minute information literacy learning activity that you would like to use (or use again) in class in the near future.<\/p>\n 2. To present, for critique, a learning activity or assessment for use (or re-use) in the near future in an embedded context, like an online discussion prompt, research project, short tutorial, quiz, etc.<\/p>\n To make a proposal, please send the following information to the chair of the conference committee, Professor Brandy Whitlock, at bmwhitlock@aacc.edu<\/a> by Friday, February 23, 2018:<\/p>\n 1. In a paragraph or two, what your demonstration or talk will entail; a general outline is fine<\/p>\n 2. Learning outcomes for students (what skills you want students to learn or develop as a result of the learning activity)<\/p>\n 3. Optimal amount of time that should be allotted for your demonstration\/presentation<\/p>\n 4. Resources you will need<\/p>\n 5. Short biographical statement<\/p>\n
