I&#8217;m struggling with the balance between asking for student feedback related to the lecture itself (as a way to improve my talk), and inconveniencing students by asking them to fill out surveys.<\/p>\n<p>Most of my lectures are held in the medical school, in large lecture halls, in front of anywhere from 65-200 students. I&#8217;m given anywhere between 10-30 minutes to speak. If this is similar to what you do&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How do you gather feedback from your students after library lectures\/tutorials?<\/li>\n<li>Do any of you survey your students at the end of the year in addition to after lectures?<\/li>\n<li>Do any of you survey the faculty who invited you to speak?<\/li>\n<li>What survey questions offer the most truthful responses about the lasting impact of these lectures?<\/li>\n<li>Does your library\/department collect stats that measure the impact of the liaison teaching program?<\/li>\n<li>Does your library\/department evaluate library lectures in other ways? Peer evaluation by librarians? Peer evaluation by medical faculty?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I would appreciate any surveys, questions, actions, practices, or advice that anyone would like to share.<\/p>\n<p>These questions are just a few that have been on my mind lately. I&#8217;d also be interested in setting up a virtual meeting to discuss further.
