The HSLI Board of Directors is seeking nominations of current HSLI members to be candidates for election to two offices:\u00a0HSLI President-Elect and Secretary<\/b>. The President Elect will serve a one-year term that begins after the 2017 Annual Business Meeting in October, and ends at the close of the Annual Business Meeting in 2018, and will then serve a two-year term as President. The Secretary will serve a two-year term that begins after the 2017 Annual Business Meeting in October, and ends at the close of the Annual Business Meeting in 2019.<\/p>\n
HSLI members are encouraged to consider running for office or nominating a colleague who is interested in being nominated. Self-nominations are welcome! This is a great opportunity for professional service and leadership development, and there are typically only two HSLI Board meetings per year. The responsibilities of the HSLI President-Elect are as follows.<\/p>\n
Duties of the President-Elect<\/b><\/p>\n
A. To assist the President in the administration of the organization’s affairs as assigned.<\/p>\n
B. To serve one year as President-Elect, followed by two years as President, followed by one year as<\/p>\n
Immediate Past-President.<\/p>\n
C. To preside and perform the duties of the President whenever the President is absent and\/or unable to<\/p>\n
serve.<\/p>\n
Duties of the Secretary<\/b><\/p>\n
A. To record and distribute the minutes of the business meetings of the membership and Board meetings.<\/p>\n
B. To report HSLI activities to state and regional library organizations.<\/p>\n
C. To deposit minutes of Board and business meetings with accompanying reports to the Archives Chair.<\/p>\n
D. To perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n
