Starr Biomedical Information Center at Weill Cornell Medicine)<\/p>\n<p>On behalf of the VIVO 2017 Conference Task Force, I am pleased to invite you to attend the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/vivoconference.org\/\">8th Annual National VIVO Conference<\/a>, which will take place in New York City, NY USA from August 2nd to 4th. Invited speakers include\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/James_Hendler\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Hendler<\/a>, who co-authored the pre-eminent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pdfs.semanticscholar.org\/566c\/1c6bd366b4c9e07fc37eb372771690d5ba31.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a>\u00a0on the semantic web with Tim Berners-Lee, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/info.slis.indiana.edu\/~dingying\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ying Ding<\/a>, who teaches data science, researches bibliometrics and data-driven knowledge discovery, and who uses semantic web technologies in drug discovery. Anyone interested in linked open data should attend.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/vivo-2017-conference-registration-32786665800?affvivoconfsite\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Register<\/a>\u00a0at final early bird rate ($275) here by\u00a0<strong>Friday, June 30<\/strong>. The student rate is $99. Due to demand our first block of rooms has sold out, but I have secured additional hotel rooms in the Helmsley Tower, which is next door to Weill Cornell Medicine. There are a variety of rooms available within the block below $300 per night. There is a link to register for the Helmsley on the VIVO page, which shows great images of the rooms, but only booking by phone will allow you to reserve within the room block.
