{"id":4812,"date":"2017-05-27T03:29:01","date_gmt":"2017-05-27T03:29:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hsli.org\/?p=4812"},"modified":"2017-05-27T03:29:01","modified_gmt":"2017-05-27T03:29:01","slug":"call-for-presenters-engaging-with-the-acrl-framework-workshop-deadline-extended-to-may-31","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hsli.org\/newsletter\/call-for-presenters-engaging-with-the-acrl-framework-workshop-deadline-extended-to-may-31\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Presenters: Engaging with the ACRL Framework&#8221; Workshop (Deadline Extended to May 31)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"postHeader\">\n<p>(via Sharon Mader, University of New Orleans)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"entry\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The application deadline to become a presenter for the new &#8220;Engaging with the\u00a0<em>ACRL Framework<\/em>&#8221; workshop has been extended to\u00a0<b>5:00 PM CST\u00a0<\/b>on<b>\u00a0Wednesday, May 31<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">ACRL is accepting applications from prospective presenters for its newest licensed workshop &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/acrl\/frameworkroadshow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Engaging with the\u00a0<em>ACRL Framework<\/em>: A Catalyst for Exploring and Expanding Our Teaching Practices<\/a>&#8220;<i>,\u00a0<\/i>which will be launched early this summer. Generally offered as a day-long workshop led by two presenters, this workshop joins the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/acrl\/licensedworkshops\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">slate of ACRL&#8217;s other licensed workshops<\/a>\u00a0that can be scheduled upon request from libraries, consortia, and other groups. In addition to the in-person workshop, the presenter team will be involved in virtual programming through ACRL&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/acrl\/elearning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">e-Learning program<\/a>\u00a0and other delivery modes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The original team of three curriculum designers and presenters will be expanded by recruiting and mentoring at least three new presenters for the launch of this new workshop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">evidence of understanding and use of the\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/acrl\/standards\/ilframework\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>in your instruction practice, including the underlying theories of Understanding by Design, threshold concepts, and metaliteracy<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">experience in designing, developing, facilitating, and leading interactive workshops and other professional development offerings<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">demonstrated ability to engage in collaborative planning and teamwork.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">experience working in information literacy instruction in academic libraries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">For more information, including instructions for submitting the application, please go\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acrl.ala.org\/acrlinsider\/archives\/13917?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+acrlinsider+%28ACRL+Insider%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(via Sharon Mader, University of New Orleans) The application deadline to become a presenter for the new &#8220;Engaging with the\u00a0ACRL Framework&#8221; workshop has been extended to\u00a05:00 PM CST\u00a0on\u00a0Wednesday, May 31.
