The ACRL Board of Directors approved, through virtual vote during May 3-11, 2016, the ACRL New Roles and Changing Landscapes Committee to support the newly added fourth goal to the\u00a0ACRL Plan for Excellence<\/em><\/a>. ACRL Vice-President Irene M.H. Herold invites you to volunteer to serve on this newly created committee. Please see the following charge.<\/p>\n Charge<\/strong>: To oversee and implement ACRL’s New Roles and Changing Landscapes goal, as described in the strategic plan; work with the ACRL Board and other ACRL units in creating a comprehensive effort including coalition building, professional development, publications, research, advocacy, diversity, and consultation services and in developing the ACRL New Roles and Changing Landscapes Initiative; and monitor and assess the effectiveness of this initiative. The New Roles and Changing Landscapes goal and objectives are below.<\/p>\n Goal<\/strong>: Academic and research library workforce effectively navigates change in higher education environments.<\/p>\n Objectives<\/strong>:
\n1. Deepen ACRL’s advocacy and support for a full range of information professionals.
\n2. Equip library workforce at all levels to effectively lead, manage, and embrace change.
\n3. Expand ACRL’s role as a catalyst for transformational change in higher education.<\/p>\n
