{"id":18665,"date":"2026-02-11T19:58:52","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T19:58:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hsli.org\/newsletter\/?p=18665"},"modified":"2026-02-11T19:58:52","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T19:58:52","slug":"call-for-panelists-upcoming-episodes-in-ala-residency-interest-group-webinar-series-life-after-residencies-with-focus-on-transferable-skills-deadline-fri-feb-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hsli.org\/newsletter\/call-for-panelists-upcoming-episodes-in-ala-residency-interest-group-webinar-series-life-after-residencies-with-focus-on-transferable-skills-deadline-fri-feb-13\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Panelists: Upcoming Episodes in ALA Residency Interest Group Webinar Series Life After Residencies, with Focus on Transferable Skills&#8211;Deadline Fri., Feb. 13"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>(via Courtney Shareef, University of Louisville)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Residency Interest Group (RIG) Programs Team will continue its <em>Life After Residencies <\/em>webinar series this Spring with a two-part mini-series on leveraging transferable skills in the job hunt.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Part 1 <\/strong>will provide an overview of the post-residency job search, and ideally highlight success stories from former residents who transitioned smoothly into permanent roles, whether within librarianship or elsewhere.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Part 2<\/strong> will feature tips and tools that can help residents properly position the transferable skills honed during their residency experience on job applications and in interviews.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each panel will likely include a 30-45 moderated panel discussion and 15-20 minute audience Q&amp;A. We anticipate the panels occurring in late March\/early April.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We seek three or four panelists for each webinar. <\/strong>We are interested in representing a variety of experiences, including former residents who landed a permanent position outside of librarianship. Though residency experience is prioritized, it is not a requirement.
