We\u2019d like to thank our 2024-25 FYAL bloggers Jonathan Rowe, Heidi Uhey, and Brianna Calomino for their terrific posts this past year in our <a href=\"https:\/\/acrlog.org\/categories\/first-year-academic-librarian-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">First Year Academic Librarian Experience<\/a>\u00a0series. We\u2019d also like to encourage new academic librarians&#8211;those who are just beginning in their first position at an academic library&#8211;to blog with us during their first year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FYAL bloggers typically publish posts monthly during the academic year. If you\u2019re interested in applying to be a FYAL blogger here at ACRLog, applications are due&nbsp;<strong>by Monday, September 22<\/strong>. Please submit an application through&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScdWnryehRxIQZyw68jq6FcWb4B2fFBvvVwr--dZIoYdiUDkQ\/viewform?usp=header\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this Google form<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Proposals are evaluated by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/acrlog.org\/who-we-are\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ACRLog blog team<\/a>. When selecting FYAL bloggers we consider:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Diversity of race\/ethnicity\/sexual orientation\/ability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Voices from a range of academic institutions (for example, community colleges, research universities, etc.) and job responsibilities within academic libraries (for example, instruction, cataloging, scholarly communications, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clear and compelling writing style<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connection between day-to-day work and bigger conversations around theory, practice, criticism, LIS education, and other issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please send any questions to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:justin.fuhr@umanitoba.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Justin Fuhr<\/a>.
