Titled \u201cInformation Literacy: Autism Awareness for Library Workers\u201d, the webinar will take place on <strong>Monday, April 28, at 9:00 AM CDT<\/strong>. The program will be a moderated conversation. More information on the moderators is below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>Cindy Hohl<\/strong> (Santee Sioux Nation) is the 2024-2025 president of the American Library Association (ALA) and is director of policy analysis and operational support at Kansas City (Mo.) Public Library. Hohl is past president of the American Indian Library Association.<br>\u2022 <strong>Temple Grandin<\/strong> is an autism expert and a New York Times best-selling author (Thinking in Pictures, The Autistic Brain, Animals in Translation and Visual Thinking) and a Distinguished Professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University. Temple has appeared on numerous TV shows such as 20\/20 and Prime Time.<br>\u2022 <strong>Mychal Threets<\/strong> is a librarian, literary ambassador, and the library\u2019s number one fan (according to himself, admittedly). He grew up in Fairfield, CA, right between Sacramento and San Francisco. He was raised in his local library as a home-school kid. He got his first library job as a library shelver at the library he grew up in and worked his way up to become Supervising Librarian. He talks about his mental health in hopes that it\u2019ll help others in their journey. He is a recipient of the 2023 \u201cI Love My Librarian\u201d award from the American Library Association, one of School Library Journal\u2019s 2024 Movers and Shakers, and one of TIME Magazine\u2019s 2024 Next Generation Leaders.<br>\u2022 Moderator <strong>Sally Stieglitz <\/strong>is the Communications &amp; Outreach Coordinator at Long Island Library Resources Council (LILRC), Editor-in-Chief at AJL News &amp; Reviews, a contributing writer to American Libraries magazine, and a Solar System Ambassador for NASA.
