For the first time since 2019, Health Sciences Librarians of Illinois will hold their annual meeting in person. The meeting will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn \u2013 Warrenville\/Naperville, IL on September 22, 2023.   This year we\u2019re doing things a bit differently; we are planning for a combined poster\/lightning talk session.   If you have presented, or plan to present, a poster or lightning talk at another meeting this year (such as MLA or Midwest Chapter\/MLA), recycling content at HSLI is totally okay!  Posters from previous meetings can be used in electronic format only.  If you\u2019d prefer a lightning talk, you can also submit a small set (5 or less) of PowerPoint slides.  Each presenter will have 5 minutes to discuss their poster or lightning talk. The only requirement is that you be available in person<\/strong> at the one-day meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn \u2013 Warrenville\/Naperville, IL on September 22.   (Exact Time TBD) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ideas can include, but are not limited to, any area of librarianship such as instruction, leadership, DEI initiatives, program development, communication, collections and collection management, outreach, and evaluation. For either submission type, it is expected that presenting author(s) must register for and attend the conference.  More information about the conference can be found at the HSLI 2023 Conference website<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abstract Submission Instructions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To submit a poster or lightning talk, please fill out this form<\/a> or submit an abstract of no more than 300 words to Jonna Peterson at jpeterson2@luc.edu<\/a> and Holly Hudson at hhudson@uic.edu<\/a>.  The deadline for submission is August 1, 2023.  Participants with be notified of acceptance no later than August 15, 2023.  Once notified of acceptance, posters or PowerPoint slides are due on September 1, 2023.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
