And now that submitters have received feedback from Round 1 of submissions, it&#8217;s a good opportunity to take a moment and consider revising your abstract and submitting for a Poster or Lightning Talk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">The 2023 National Program Committee invites abstract submissions that support the annual meeting theme &#8220;Looking back, forging ahead&#8221;. The MLA|SLA &#8217;23\u00a0<a class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\" title=\"link opens in new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abstractscorecard.com\/cfp\/submit\/login.asp?EventKey=BKQKMBBN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\">submission site for Poster and Lightning Talks<\/a><span class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0<\/span>is now open and will remain open until<strong class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\"><span class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0Thursday, J<\/span><\/strong><strong class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">anuary 26, 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">The 2023 joint meeting will take place in <b>Detroit, Michigan, from Tuesday, May 16, to Friday, May 19<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">More information about\u00a0Round 2 submissions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">Lightning Talks\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">Lighting Talks are limited to five minutes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\"><strong class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">New for 2023,<\/strong>\u00a0Lightning Talk presenters will participate in live-streamed virtual sessions (not at the in-person meeting). Presenters will have the opportunity to take and answer questions during and after the virtual session.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">Presenters are also asked to make a recording of their Lightning Talk for on-demand access.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">Posters\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">Posters are highly visual presentations.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">Same as in 2022, accepted poster presenters can either decide to be virtual\/on-demand or in person.\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">Presenters choosing the virtual\/on-demand option will record their presentation for on-demand access.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">In-person Poster presenters will be asked to participate in a poster session at the in-person conference where they can answer questions. They will also be asked to record their presentation for on-demand access.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">Posters and Lightning Talks can be submitted as a program description, research abstract or Special Library Abstracts. Special Library Abstracts address library science, information management, or other issues related to the administration of special libraries and\/or the provision of their services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_ContentPasted0\">Submissions require a structured abstract.
